3D MicroPrint GmbH, located in Chemnitz, Germany, has announced its new e-learning course: Design Rules for Micro Laser Sintering. The course, developed with the Additive Minds Academy, aims to educate mechanical designers on how to fully utilise the potential of Additive Manufacturing for micro metal parts.

Design Rules for Micro Laser Sintering summarises over fifteen years of experience, and is intended to provide a comprehensive overview from the basics of technology, to design & positioning rules and step-by-step design examples of complex parts and assemblies.

The course aims to help mechanical designers avoid time-consuming and costly trial and error through the three-hour digital learning programme, and includes the following sessions:

  1. Complete process overview from CAD to part
  2. Technology basics
  3. Features Design guidelines

  5. Q&A session with an experienced designer
