DEEP Manufacturing Limited, based in Bristol, UK, has announced that it is now ISO 45001 certified with classification society DNV. This follows the company’s grant of an Approval of Manufacture (AoM) for its Directed Energy Deposition (DED) Additive Manufacturing technology.

ISO 45001 certifies the occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system in place within DEEP as it scales its Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) for large, safety-critical metal components. The standard establishes criteria for an OH&S policy, objectives, planning, implementation, operation, auditing and review.

Key aspects of the standard include leadership commitment, worker participation, hazard identification and risk assessment, legal and regulatory compliance, emergency planning, incident investigation and continual improvement.

For customers across offshore, maritime, energy, aerospace and defence, the ISO certification is intended to provide further assurance that DEEP’s manufacturing operations are built on internationally recognised standards as well as its advanced technology.
