ColdMetalFusion Alliance adds AM Solutions and Nippon Gases
November 3, 2022
The ColdMetalFusion Alliance has announced that AM Solutions, a brand of the Rösler Group, and Nippon Gases, part of the global Nippon Sanso Holdings Corporation, have joined its consortium. Alliance members provide services, equipment, material, software, and knowledge to customers in the metal Additive Manufacturing industry.
“Through the use of its broad portfolio of finishing and post-processing technologies, AM Solutions — 3D post processing technology will offer complete end-to-end support across the key process phases of ColdMetalFusion, and thus become a key enabler for digital manufacturing beyond the one-million parts threshold,” stated Stephen Rösler, CEO of the Rösler Group. “Our products not only guarantee significant productivity increases and cost savings, but they also provide the stability and process-robustness required for industrial manufacturing. We are industrialists by heritage, and as such share many values such as trust, reliability, and innovation with the other ColdMetalFusion Alliance members.”
AM Solutions has reportedly begun developing its offering with ColdMetalFusion partners to achieve optimal powder removal and cleaning of additively manufactured green parts, according to the release. In addition, core competencies also include the removal of support structures as well as surface homogenisation, smoothing, or polishing. Because of its technical capabilities, AM Solutions intends to support its customers throughout the product development lifecycle from conceptual design to production.
With its track record in delivering industrial, medical and speciality gas solutions, Nippon Gases adds its wide array of experience in safety, sinter process knowledge, chemistry, heat treatment and Additive Manufacturing, as well as its own competence centre. Thus, Nippon Gases is aligned to help customers scale their operation from initial proof of concept to large-scale operation.
“In metal processing, Nippon Gases main areas of activity is welding, as well as oxyfuel-, plasma- and laser-cutting. Over the last years, we have heavily invested to build up our additive manufacturing activities under the 3DPro brand where we can use our know-how from our core business,” stated Dominic Mueller, Marketing Manager Additive Manufacturing at Nippon Gases. “Within additive, we believe ColdMetalFusion holds immense growth opportunities. It has great potential to increase the reliability of sintering parts – a part we plan to strongly contribute to.”
“Thanks to its process stability,” he continued, “we believe customers can cross the threshold into series production. Since its funding, Nippon Gases has been at the forefront of researching and developing gas engineering technologies and utilising equipment based on industrial gases. As a customer-centric company, it shares values such as trust, reliability, safety and innovation with the other ColdMetalFusion Alliance members – one of the reasons why we have decided to join the ColdMetalFusion expert network.”
At the upcoming Formnext event in Frankfurt, Germany, ColdMetalFusion Alliance members will demonstrate its mission of industrialisation in Hall 11.1, booth D48. AM Solutions will be at 12.0, C81 and Nippon Gases at 11.0, B79.
