GKN plc has announced that Hans Büthker, currently CEO of GKN Aerospace Fokker, will be appointed CEO of GKN Aerospace effective January 1, 2018. Büthker succeeds current CEO Kevin Cummings, who will be appointed CEO of GKN plc in January.

Nigel Stein, who retires as Chief Executive Officer GKN plc at the end of 2017, commented, “I am delighted that Hans will take on the role. Fokker has been an excellent acquisition for GKN Aerospace and Hans has played a significant role in that success. I know he will be an excellent leader of GKN Aerospace.”

Hans Büthker joined GKN when it acquired Fokker in 2015. Previously, he worked in a variety of roles at Fokker and its former owners Arle and Stork.
