Xi’an Bright Laser Technologies Co., Ltd. (BLT) has officially broken ground on its Phase IV facilities expansion project in Xi’an, China. The fourth phase of BLT’s Additive Manufacturing construction project is expected to focus on expanding its metal AM powder production lines and customised products production lines, with a total facility area of approximately 163,200 m2.

BLT has stated that Phase IV marks the company’s entrance into a new stage by expanding its metal Additive Manufacturing powder production capacity. The move is said to reflect the broader adoption of AM services in aerospace and other industries both within China and abroad.

BLT’s Phase I and Phase II facilities occupy about 100,000 m2 and consist of a high-level R&D centre and six Additive Manufacturing factories. Phase III is currently still under construction and covers an area of 190,000 m2. It will focus on Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), big data, intelligent equipment, unmanned factory automation and other aspects.
