Barnes Group Advisors expands team with Additive Manufacturing industrialisation expert Kirk Rogers

Kirk Rogers has joined The Barnes Group Advisors

 

The Barnes Groups Advisors, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, has announced that Kirk Rogers PhD is the latest addition to its specialist team of consultants. According to the company, Rogers will assist in the industrialisation of Additive Manufacturing and offers a range of experience in medical and industrial Additive Manufacturing.

Previously, Rogers was the technical leader for the establishment of a $40 million Additive Manufacturing R&D centre at GE, having worked for the company for almost twenty years. The majority of his career has been spent in medical device manufacturing, where he built manufacturing lines and qualified numerous products.

“I’ve known Kirk for a very long time and we routinely find ourselves at the same place so it was natural for us to work together,” stated John Barnes, Managing Director of The Barnes Groups Advisors. “We both have a passion for the technology and making sure it is being promoted in STEM and at the universities. Kirk coming in with his medical and industrial materials knowledge is a tremendous addition to our technical diversity.”

Rogers has twenty-five years of experience in materials processing and business strategy, including metal powder production, novel joining methods, metal AM, sustainable manufacturing, carbon composite materials, Powder Metallurgy and the development of patent and technology strategy. He has obtained three US patents and filed more than twenty trade secrets and patent applications.
