ASTM International AM CoE to hold industrialisation and automation workshop online

The ASTM International Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (ASTM AM CoE) will hold its fourth ASTM AM CoE Snapshot Virtual Workshop on September 11, 2020. The theme of the online one-day workshop is ‘AM Industrialisation and Automation’ and aims to offer attendees the opportunity to receive a comprehensive understanding of the latest advancements in these areas. 

The event is open to all AM professionals, including industry (aerospace, medical, automotive, energy, and defence), academia, and government agency representatives who want to learn about the latest AM standardised practices and the research and development initiatives.

The workshop covers the key topics that drive AM industrialisation and the current practices adopted by major organisations implementing AM including:

  • Advanced materials
  • Multi-laser processing
  • In-situ process monitoring & control
  • Process simulation
  • AM automation
  • Industry 4.0 (AM data management, machine learning)

It also covers gaps in AM standardisation and certification in driving AM industrialisation, and the research initiatives from AM CoE partners to keep abreast with the technology advancements.
