ASM International publishes digital articles on AM processes

April 27, 2020

ASM International has published digital-first articles focusing on Additive Manufacturing Processes. The select handbook articles from ASM Handbook, Volume 24: Additive Manufacturing Processes have been digitally published in ASM Handbooks Online™ in the ASM Digital Library, in advance of the full volume release.

The full volume, edited by David L Bourell, William Frazier, Howard Kuhn, and Mohsen Seifi, is scheduled to be released digitally and in print in June 2020. The following articles are now available in the ASM Handbooks Online™:

  • History of Additive Manufacturing, David L Bourell, Joseph J Beaman, and Terry Wohlers
  • Introduction to Additive Manufacturing, David L Bourell and Terry Wohlers
  • Design and Manufacturing Implications of Additive Manufacturing, David Rosen and Samyeon Kim

The ASM Handbook, Volume 24: Additive Manufacturing Processes was reportedly developed to address the current and rapidly expanding importance of Additive Manufacturing. The volume is intended to provide the latest knowledge in materials, processes, and applications of AM, written by the leading experts in research and industry.

The ASM Digital Library provides interactive access to articles, books, databases, and industry news on current engineering practices and scientific research in the development, manufacturing, testing, modelling, and application of engineered materials. ASM Handbooks Online™ is the first resource that is being presented in the new ASM Digital Library platform. Over time the other materials information resources published by ASM International will be integrated into the platform.
