America Makes announces 2022 ambassadors
August 26, 2022

America Makes, Youngstown, Ohio, USA, has announced the 2022 class of America Makes Ambassadors at the 2022 Members Meeting and Exchange (MMX).
The Ambassador Program, launched in 2017, recognises individuals who have continually demonstrated outstanding dedication to advancing America Makes and its mission. With the Additive Manufacturing industry’s thrust into the spotlight this year with US President Biden’s Additive Manufacturing initiative, the 2022 class represents a cross-section of the industry whose work helped further advance Additive Manufacturing technology and showed the resilience of the AM community. It also represents the advances made in AM technology, ecosystem and workforce development.
The 2022 Class of America Makes Ambassadors are:
- Barb Ewing, Youngstown Business Incubator
- Pamela Szmara, Pamton 3D
- Ben DiMarco, OSU
- Brian Thompson, GE Additive
- Juan Mario Gomez, Xact Metal
- Joy Gockel, Colorado School of Mines
- Jeff Shubrooks, Raytheon
- Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan
Also during MMX, America Makes awarded Dennis Butcher, PhD, with the Distinguished Collaborator Award for 2022. This award was established in 2014 to recognise individuals or organisations with an exceptional commitment and dedication to advancing Additive Manufacturing technology, practices, and innovation in the manufacturing industry. The recognised individuals are honoured for cultivating effective collaborative relationships with academia, government, and industry and contributing to the mission of America Makes.
