A new textbook, ‘Additive Manufacturing with Metals: Design, Processes, Materials, Quality Assurance, and Applications,’ has been published by Springer. This comprehensive reference source begins with an introduction to the technology, followed by chapters covering the various AM production processes, design and digital work flows, materials, modelling, post processing, quality assurance, and more.

The book is authored by Sanjay Joshi, Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania, USA; Richard P Martukanitz, University of Virginia, Charlottesville; Abdalla R Nassau, John Deere, Moline, Illinois; and Pan Michaleris, Pan Computing LLC, State College, Pennsylvania. It provides an overview of the fundamental science necessary to develop and understand AM technologies, as well as the application of engineering principles covering several disciplines to successfully exploit this important technology.

The text is well-suited to students in a range of engineering disciplines, as well as users working in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and medical device.
