Additive Industries, Eindhoven, the Netherlands, has appointed Jan-Cees Santema as its new Sales Director Europe, effective June 1, 2018. Santema will be responsible for European sales and expand the team both working from the Additive Industries headquarters in the Netherlands and locally in the most important regional markets.

According to Additive Industries, Santema has extensive experience in the automotive industry, having formerly served as Managing Director for the VDL Group in production automation and driveline technologies. For the previous eight years he has been employed within VDL Bus Chassis, where his focus has been on the transition from diesel combustion engine applications to full electric heavy duty vehicles, such as e-Busses and e-Trucks. In this role, he is said to have been responsible for greatly expanding opportunities for VDL, and in May 2018, VDL announced a cooperation with DAF Trucks  concerning the production, marketing & sales of the full electric truck.

“I am extremely proud to join the Additive Industries team and to use my passion, experience and enthusiasm in the rapidly changing innovative world of Additive Manufacturing,” stated Santema. “It is amazing to see the establishment and growth of Additive Industries in the last years. I look forward to being a team member to support the ambition to be the top three player in the market of industrial 3D-metal printers for series production.”

Daan Kersten, CEO of Additive Industries, added,  “We are proud to have Jan-Cees add a wealth of experience to our management team. Both his knowledge of the automotive industry and his track record in expanding the business will contribute to execution on our steep growth ambitions.”
