Additive Manufacturing solutions provider Addition Design & Research, Sheffield, UK, is to offer a one-day introductory training course on Additive Manufacturing from the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre in Sheffield. According to the company, the course will offer ‘unbiased training’ for organisations looking to engage with Additive Manufacturing.

The introductory training course will be broken down into investigative and hands-on sessions, at which participants will be invited to take part. The Addition Design & Research team will be on hand throughout the day to provide information and assistance in a supporting role and offer guidance where appropriate. Questions will be invited throughout the course, and addressed either in a group setting or in one-to-one meetings available at the end of the day.

A key session during the course will focus on ‘Who uses 3DP and how?’, giving attendees the opportunity to learn about, see and hold some current applications of AM technology. This session is intended to serve as a launch pad to prompt ideas and questions on how attendees can realistically apply Additive Manufacturing in their own businesses, and will investigate the logistics and economics of doing so.

Another key session during the course will be titled ‘What does 3DP need to work?’ Here, the goal is to support course participants in identifying their own needs within their business and workflows. Each session will involve specific interactive activities designed to generate valuable feedback for every participant.

The first in this series of one-day training courses will take place on September 20, 2018.
