Ruwac launches new dust collection solutions for metal Additive Manufacturing

Ruwac, Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA, has introduced two new immersion separation vacuum series for the safe removal of dust created during the metal Additive Manufacturing process. The MX360 and MX360EX Series are believed to be the only immersion separators available on the market featuring a complete self-contained vacuum system.

This is beneficial to work environments in which metal Additive Manufacturing processes are undertaken which use explosive or impact sensitive materials or other volatile dusts, helping to eliminate the risk of an explosion.

The MX300 and MX360EX Series collect explosive or glowing media particles entering the vacuum, then immediately mix them in a turbulent liquid bath. From there, moving air and liquid are rapidly forced onto the materials, submerging and neutralising them in the process in the vacuum’s hydrophobic and oleophobic water filter system. This process prevents the contained materials from finding any ignition source that may be introduced into the vacuum.

The immersion separation vacuums feature a large 45 litre (12 gallon) collection capacity and a stainless steel liquid discharge valve located beneath the main housing that acts as the primary source in releasing filtered contents. It also incorporates counterbalanced heavy duty casters and a two-stack design for greater portability.
