AMM partners with DiManEx for distributed metal Additive Manufacturing
Metal AM service provider Additive Metal Manufacturing Inc. (AMM), Concord, Ontario, Canada, a Canada Makes member company, has announced plans to expand its on-demand Electronic Warehouse replenishment capabilities by partnering with DiManEx BV, a Dutch Company which provides cloud-based, end-to-end services for distributed Additive Manufacturing.
Norman Holesh, AMM President, stated, “technology is now allowing companies to free up large amounts of working capital by printing parts on demand rather than filling warehouses with parts in anticipation of a demand that may never materialise.”
DiManEx recently announced a partnership with the Royal Dutch Army, which is embedding Additive Manufacturing systems within its Land Systems programmes and to support the missions of its Material Stock Logistics Command. A successful pilot has now been completed on an active combat vehicle for which the RDA has been able to solve problems for spare / service parts which were no longer available or had become obsolete.
On partnering with DiManEx, Robert Meeuwsen, Colonel and Head of Innovation at the Dutch Army, commented, “This proves that 3D printing and other Additive Manufacturing techniques are ready for regular business operations. We hope other organisations will be open to taking this new route as well.”
