Mohammad Ehteshami, GE Additive’s Vice President, will present GE’s view of the current state and future potential of Additive Manufacturing during a keynote speech at formnext 2016, Frankfurt, Germany, on Friday, November 18.

The presentation, Current Perspectives and Future Possibilities of AM within GE, will highlight GE’s commitment to industrial scale Additive Manufacturing.

As a leading end user and investor in Additive Manufacturing for several years, GE is experiencing the technology’s transformative engineering and manufacturing power across the company’s industrial businesses.

GE has already invested approximately $1.5 billion in manufacturing and additive technologies at GE’s Global Research Centre in Niskayuna, New York, in addition to building a global additive network of centres focused on advancing the science.

Now, GE is fully focused on becoming a leading supplier of additive machines, materials, and software for several industry segments, including aerospace, power generation, automotive, medical, and electronics.

GE seeks to grow its new additive business to $1 billion by 2020 and is planning to sell 10,000 additive machines over the next 10 years.

In addition to building out a portfolio of additive machines, GE anticipates that 25% of the advanced powder metal used in manufacturing will be in the additive manufacturing space.

To hear more of GE’s commitment to Additive Manufacturing technology head to the formnext conference on Friday November 18, 10:00 – 10:30 hrs, in Messe Frankfurt.
