Jingye plans $747 million metal AM, MIM and powder production facility

Jingye Group, a Chinese industrial group primarily engaged in steel production, has announced plans to invest RMB 5 billion (approx. $747 million) in a manufacturing facility in Fengshun County, Guangdong Province, China. The facility will include 400 metal Additive Manufacturing machines, twenty metal powder production lines and 100 Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) machines.
The project will be developed by Jingye Future Smart Manufacturing (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Jingye Group, following the signing of an investment agreement with the Fengshun County People’s Government on September 23, 2026.

The facility will primarily produce precision components for the 3C consumer electronics sector, including foldable smartphone hinges and camera modules. Other applications will include structural components for robotics, liquid-cooling components and medical devices.
Combining metal powder production, Additive Manufacturing and MIM within a digitalised manufacturing facility, Jingye also aims to establish a high-performance metal powder research, development and production base serving southern China.
The investment will be undertaken in two phases, with RMB 2 billion (approx. $299 million) allocated to the first stage and RMB 3 billion (approx. $448 million) to the second. Construction is reportedly underway, with partial production targeted by the end of 2026.

Once fully operational, the facility is expected to generate annual production output valued at RMB 10 billion (approx. $1.5 billion) and create more than 1,000 jobs, while supporting local machining, logistics and related industries.
The investment agreement was signed by Zeng Xiaoli, Deputy County Mayor of Fengshun, and Han Xiaofeng, representing Jingye Future Smart Manufacturing. Han stated that the company intends to establish the facility as an important manufacturing base for Jingye Group in southern China.
Local officials described the development as the county’s largest single industrial investment in recent years, with the government pledging support for land, labour, energy supply and administrative approvals.
