Wallwork Group, based in Bury, UK, will highlight its expanded Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) capacity at Formnext 2026, following a £20 million investment in its HIP Centre.

The company now operates two Quintus Technologies HIP systems at its Manchester facility. The second machine, commissioned in late 2025, doubled the site’s HIP capacity and is intended to support customers in Additive Manufacturing, casting and Powder Metallurgy.

“Over the last three years we have moved from establishing a new UK HIP facility to operating two of Europe’s most advanced Quintus systems and supporting customers in the UK, Europe and beyond,” stated Howard Maher, Wallwork Group Sales Manager.

Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing: Beyond the hype, towards industrial success

The two identical machines enable processing to be transferred between units, with interchangeable tooling and continuity of service during scheduled maintenance.

Both systems operate at pressures of 40–207 MPa (5,800–30,000 psi) and temperatures up to 1250 °C. They also incorporate Quintus Technologies’ Uniform Rapid Cooling technology for controlled cooling within the HIP cycle.

Wallwork Group also operates more than thirty vacuum furnaces, enabling HIP and heat treatment to be incorporated within a wider range of thermal processing services. The company offers standard, shared and bespoke HIP cycles.

“Formnext brings together many engineers who are pushing the limits of Additive Manufacturing, castings and Powder Metallurgy. Applying high temperature and isostatic gas pressure densifies components and reduces internal defects. This helps engineers achieve the material properties and consistency demanded in safety-critical and high-value applications. Wallwork has the technology, capacity, quality systems and technical expertise to support the transition from product development into scaled-up reliable production,” added Maher.

The HIP Centre holds Nadcap and AS9100 accreditation. Across four UK sites, Wallwork Group also provides heat treatment, vacuum brazing and PVD coating services.

Wallwork will exhibit at Formnext 2026 in Hall 11, Booth F35.
