6K Additive, a division of 6K, based in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, USA, has executed the final loan agreement with the Export-Import Bank of the United States for a financing facility of up to $27.4 million to support the expansion of its domestic manufacturing capacity in Burgettstown.

The company previously announced EXIM Board approval for the loan in December 2025, pending completion of the loan documentation. Proceeds are now available to reimburse ongoing purchases of equipment and infrastructure associated with the expansion of 6K Additive’s Burgettstown facility.

Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing: Beyond the hype, towards industrial success

The expansion is intended to increase production of high-performance materials, including titanium, tungsten, C-103, nickel alloys and other advanced metal powders manufactured using 6K Additive’s UniMelt technology. The move includes the construction of four new buildings and the acquisition of additional manufacturing equipment.

The financing was approved under EXIM’s Make More in America Initiative and in coordination with the US Department of War’s Defense Production Act Title III initiative.

“Finalising this agreement with EXIM marks an important milestone for 6K Additive and reinforces the strategic importance of expanding domestic production of the critical materials essential to America’s defence and advanced manufacturing industries,” stated Frank Roberts, CEO of 6K Additive. “This investment directly supports the Make More in America Initiative and provides 6K Additive with the funding required to execute our planned capacity expansion while preserving our existing capital to support continued growth.”

The expanded facility is expected to support the production of materials for aerospace, defence, space, energy and advanced manufacturing applications.

Under the final agreement, EXIM will provide financing of up to $27.4 million over a six-year term, with drawdown available through June 30, 2028. The facility includes up to $25.2 million for eligible project costs and up to $2.2 million to finance the related EXIM exposure fee.
