4th European Military Additive Manufacturing Symposium opens call for papers
The German Association for Defence Technology has announced that the 4th European Military Additive Manufacturing Symposium will take place at the Maritim Hotel Bonn, Germany, from April 5–6, 2027.
The event is intended to address military requirements and challenges, while hearing perspectives from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), AM machine producers and service providers as well as researchers and academia. The aim of the symposium is to generate a common understanding of the benefits and limitations of AM and to foster sustainable cooperation among stakeholders to materialise the benefits for military applications.
The fourth edition is aimed at the Armed Forces, procurement agencies and defence planners, as well as AM machine manufacturers, defence OEMs, service providers and research organisations.
The organiser has issued a call for papers on the following topics:
- Operational Additive Manufacturing in Contested Environments “From Laboratory to Battlefield”
- Defence Readiness Through Distributed Manufacturing “Building Resilient Military Supply Networks”
- Qualification, Certification & Trust in Military AM “From Prototype to Mission-Critical Part”
- AI-Driven Defence Manufacturing “The Next Generation of Military AM”
- Secure Digital Manufacturing Ecosystems “Protecting Defence Data Across the Digital Thread”
- Advanced Materials for Defence Applications “Beyond Conventional Metal and Polymer Printing”
- Additive Manufacturing for Space and Near-Space “AM evolving the Space Domain”
- Circular Defence Manufacturing “From End-of-Life Assets to New Capability”
- Human Factors, Skills & Organisational Transformation “Making AM a commonly used technology”
- Strategic European Cooperation in Defence AM “Commonly aiming one goal”
- Future Concepts and Disruptive Innovation “What Comes Next?”
The deadline for submissions is December 2, 2026. The programme committee will review all proposals and authors will be notified in January 2027. The committee reserves the right to determine whether a presentation will be delivered in a plenary session, an expert panel or as a poster.
