From Prototype to Series Production: Potential in Additive Manufacturing (PRODUCTION)

Additive Manufacturing (AM) is one of the main methods of future production. Traditional and additive manufacturing do not compete but rather complement each other. While traditional production is suitable for manufacturing identical components of low complexity in large quantities, AM is ideal for producing different components with high complexity in small quantities. Currently, additive methods are increasingly used in serial production. With growing material range, higher quality, developing applications and higher production speed, AM is becoming more and more interesting for own production. In various formats, the potential in additive manufacturing and the steps required for successful AM introduction will be discussed at the Forum.

Additive Design: The Revolution in Development? (DESIGN)

Traditional production methods have restricted product design options. This no longer applies to AM. Additive manufacturing allows maximal design freedom and best functional optimization and integration to developers, engineers and designers. It facilitates the modelling of highly complex as well as extremely light and robust structures. So, is there a revolution going on in development? What is already possible, and what are the reasons that we will not be able to build everything by using AM?

Additive Manufacturing: Supply Chain Management without Logistics? (SCM)

Limitations of traditional supply chain standards are easy to overcome by using AM. This results in a number of potential optimization benefits: reduction of lot size and delivery time, production on demand, decentralized production, customization on component level and continuous component development. What consequences for the supply chain do logistics companies need to consider? What are the risks and the opportunities for the future?

Revolution or Evolution: 3D printing will trigger new business models (BUSINESS MODELS)

Additive processes and additional digital strategies will change traditional business models in various ways. Additive methods also allow companies, for example, to provide services by employing digital business models. Which business models will remain competitive in the future?
