MAPP, the Future Manufacturing Hub in Manufacture using Advanced Powder Processes, is hosting its First International Conference next year, with registration and abstract submission now open.

The conference, on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st January, will bring together experts in the areas of particulate and powder science, concentrating on: in-situ process and performance characterisation; advanced characterisation; and modelling, optimisation and control.  We are now accepting applications for short presentations and posters on these three themes.

The deadline for abstract submissions is 29th September 2017. More details on the conference can be found here.

Bursaries are also available for early career researchers and attendees will have the opportunity to learn about MAPP’s first call for feasibility funding.

MAPP’s vision is to deliver on the promise of powder-based manufacturing processes to provide low energy, low cost and low waste high value manufacturing routes and products to secure UK manufacturing productivity and growth.

Led by the University of Sheffield, MAPP brings together leading research teams from the Universities of Leeds, Manchester and Oxford, and Imperial College London, together with an initial group of 17 industry partners and six of the UK’s High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC) centres. MAPP is funded by the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC).

If you have any questions about the conference or MAPP please contact Jess Bamonte, MAPP Project Administrator, on [email protected] or 0114 225 5504.
