AME-3D selects AMFG software to streamline AM production

February 2, 2023

AME-3D, Sheffield, UK, has identified manufacturing execution system (MES) & workflow automation software from AMFG Corp, Austin, Texas, USA, as a means to mature and scale its Additive Manufacturing processes.

AME-3D has provided design and prototyping services for twenty-six years, more recently offering Additive Manufacturing services for rapid prototyping and low-volume production. Over the last two years, the company has been experiencing significant financial investment, sparking new developments and opening up further paths for expansion, including a means to improve its quotation speed by reducing manual input.

Through its quotation automation feature, the AMFG software reportedly resulted in a reduction in labour time and afforded firmer control over quotation quality. Additionally, AMFG’s digital catalogue functionality allowed AME-3D’s customers to order from a list of preconfigured CAD files, reducing the need for client input and simplifying the buying process. Acting under an official partnership, AME-3D intends to utilise AMFG’s software to expedite its ongoing growth.

“AMFG has a lot of capability packed into the software. I was specifically looking for a solution that enabled faster quoting, an online quoting platform and production management, and AMFG has all of these,” stated Rich Proctor, Managing Director of AME Group. “I have benefitted a lot from the speed at which the support team at AMFG reply to queries. There is more that we can do with the software as we get further into the integrations with other parts of our business too. Strategically, I could see that growing AME-3D would be an easier task when we were building on a platform that offers clarity, control, and consistency.”

Following the agreement, AME-3D and AMFG have worked closely together towards software implementation, including an intensive process of dissecting the company’s business framework and configuring the software to maximise its application’s benefits. Now in place, the company has reported already noticing operational improvements, easing previously time-consuming and high-effort tasks.

Alongside conventional Additive Manufacturing applications, traditionally catered for by AMFG, AME-3D have incorporated vacuum casting within their AMFG solution.

“At AMFG, we take great pride in aligning with high-growth organisations who are carving the path forward in additive,” added Matt Martin, VP EMEA at AMFG. “AME Group’s ambitions and demands for a solution were ambitious and well thought-out, but it’s great to observe the clear demonstration of value that AME-3D have derived from AMFG in both their customer-facing improvements and back-office process efficiency”.
